Selina, the "Queen of Tejano music" who was murdered in 1995 by the president of her fan club, has been nearly canonized in Texas's Mexican community. Thus, the procession of memorial concerts, the Jennifer Lopez-starring biopic, and the statue of the singer in Corpus Christi make a certain kind of sense – but nobody would have expected Selina's fame to inspire a restaurant in Israel.

But somehow it has, although the restaurant's evident passion for the singer hasn't inspired them to do a very thorough background check, as they claim she's South American, which is fairly distinct from Mexican-American.

Beyond the mysterious association with its namesake, Selina is a meat-oriented kosher bar/restaurant, specializing in both creative preparations of meat and alcohol and meat prepared with alcohol, including beef fillet in red wine sauce, carpaccio filet, chicken wings and, of course, entrecote steak. The menu changes slightly at night, where the focus is more on the bar's cocktail creations.
