StardustNightlife A Jerusalemite Pick Rivlin St. 6 City Center/Mamilla 02-622-2196 www.pubstardust.com Sunday to Thursday 16:30 until last customer; Friday 22:00 until last customerThe Rivlin Street scene may be happening, but in its alcohol-soaked excess and crowds of drunken teenagers and students it often falls short of actually being cool. But not entirely short, because, unassuming and almost hidden away at the top of the street, Stardust exudes enough cool for the entire street. For example, the bar is named Stardust after David Bowie's iconic Ziggy persona (the Spiders from Mars are nowhere to be seen, although that would make an excellent name for a cocktail). Stardust serves Murphy's on tap, and a luxurious happy hour from 14:30 to 21:30 includes 10 NIS rum 'n cokes, 40 NIS bottles of wine and other myriad low-price alcoholic goodies. The bar features a prominent list of sporting events, in case you wish to mix happy hour with Maccabi Haifa. And although the place is tiny, it manages to have live music and DJs, often spilling into the street outside. On Fridays Stardust transforms itself into one of Jerusalem's only reggae soundsystems, perhaps the most fitting way to bring in Shabbat in the holy city of Zion. Search Jerusalemite City Guide
