Lots of restaurants in Israel, and an increasing number in Jerusalem, aren't kosher. But despite the pork tenderloin or the shrimp scampi on their menus, they don't turn their flaunting of Judaism's dietary code into their raison d'être. But Bolinat does. With "Lo kol kach kasher" (Not so kosher) as a motto and a yearly Passover campaign trumpeting "Chametz b'shefa" (An abundance of leaven), Bolinat embraces treif with all the rebellious glee of teenagers smoking in the bathroom.

Fortunately, it has more to offer than just that: It's one of Jerusalem's nicer cafes, located right off the Ben Yehuda pedestrian mall, equipped with a glassed-in patio seating area, seriously cute waitresses and speedy wireless Internet access.

Open 24 hours, it's the best (and one of the only) places in town to unwind after a night out at the bars with a coffee and a BLT, or one of many other choices of salads, soups, sandwiches and more – if bacon isn't your thing.
