From the deliciously poisoned pen of the late, great Israeli satirist and dramatist Hanoch Levin comes Yakish and Poupche, ably presented by directors Yevgeny Arie and Shimon Mimran. One of Levin's sourer plays (an impressive feat given his oeuvre), Yakish and Poupche concerns the unwilling, matchmaker-conducted union of the two shtetl-bound title characters, too ugly and too destitute to marry anyone else - or to love each other.
