Oud player Haytham Safia, born in Israeli Arab village Kafr Yasif, has, at age 28, already graduated from the prestigious Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, performed as a soloist with the Holland Symphony at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and established himself as one of the top names in oud worldwide. Now he's performing with his new trio at the Confederation House, playing an eclectic mashup of classical Arab music, classical Western music, Balkan and Persian folk, blues and jazz.
