Summer Nights began in the early 2000s as an attempt to cheer Jerusalemites during the second intifada and has since evolved into an annual event featuring free cultural events throughout the summer. The series kicks off on July 3 with a gala event featuring the Israel Camerata Orchestra and the Kolben Dance Company performing 18th Century Viennese Waltzes. The waltzes represent a departure for Kolben whose main focus is modern, contemporary dance, and is the company's last show in Israel before taking off for a dance festival in Cyprus. Seating is limited, so it's best to reserve tickets in advance.
