Come get your dance on at the Gerard Bechar Center on Sunday nights. Each week, the center hosts a night of Israeli folk dancing, that quaint, old pastime that we thought died with the rise of MTV and the Israeli salsa craze, but apparently is alive and well and thriving in the center of Jerusalem. Expert dancers will be on hand to give guidance to the uninitiated and lead those assembled through the various, often surprisingly complicated steps. Israeli folk troupes have sprung up in cities across North America, but lets face it, if you want to learn Israeli dance, Jerusalem is the best place to do it. Long live the hora! Classes take place on June 15, June 22 and June 29.
