Parade for JerusalemOther, Children, Parties, Popular music, Tours A Jerusalemite Pick Independence Park, Teddy Stadium Independence Park (Gan Ha'atzmaut) City Center/Mamilla www.jerusalem.muni.il June 03 2008 17:00-19:30 FreeWho doesn't love a parade? Jerusalem celebrates 40 years of unification (and 60 years of Israel) with a grand parade on June 3. This being Jerusalem, the hotly contested and highly politicized capital of the hotly contested and highly politicized State of Israel, the parade will end with a giant protest/rally at Teddy Stadium. President Shimon Peres and other politicos will speak at the event. Why go, you ask? The protest will also feature dance and musical performances by such superstars as Shiri Maimon and Subliminal. Over 30,000 marchers are expected to turn out for the parade which will feature a number of throwbacks to the State's founding years including tractors and work tools used to till the fields and build the country.
