Commemorating Holocaust Day 2008 in Jerusalemby ben • April 30 2008
Tonight is the beginning of the 24 hours dedicated to Israel's commemoration of the Holocaust. Among the memorial events are ceremonies at Yad Vashem and community centers as well as television and radio special programs.
On Thursday morning at 10, the traditional siren marks a minute of silence, when nearly everyone in the country stops whatever it is that they're doing and stands, solemnly contemplating the incomprehensible.
